This paper attempts to find an easy and affordable way to compare and improve the power quality of motors with inverters powered by passive front end devices. Indeed a poor power quality has a direct negative effect on the operation of the surrounding machines, the energy consumption and the bill of the electricity supplier through power factor fines.
